Ok, now that the contest is closed, we vote for the best entries. Start by clicking "vote" just below to get started. You have up to 7 votes to cast.
Yes SEVEN (7) 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 big shiny votes. Choose well.
Given the fairly large number of entries I recommend you download the zip file, view all the entries (there are bound to be some new ones you missed) and delete those you like least. Most modern image viewers allow you to do that in situ. Then choose 7 (or less) from the ones you like most.
Remember, you have 7 votes. Use them all.
And please do not cheat by voting again on multiple computers...
The poll thingy is a bit confusing at first (crappy colour scheme of the site...) but you'll quickly figure it out.
If you are having trouble voting, post a comment below. The poll plugin may still be a bit buggy...
UPDATE -- we're a new server now. How exciting. Except that I got a bit lazy and the promised changes to the theme and other stuff won't occur just yet. But I'll be working on it.
If you find that some things are not working as they are supposed to, post a comment here or let me know via the contact form.
An Update to the Make Madara Talk WhOOPdEEdOO contest.
If you missed the news included in the last chapter, you are part of that benighted sub-species of fandom that does not read the credits pages of hard working scanlators or anything beyond. (Some would simply call you losers, but I think you should be shot dead. repeatedly)
At first I was thinking of including it in the next Naruto chapter. but given the number of entries, it might make the filesize a bit bloated. I've decided to compile them into their own special release. And very probably I'll be making similar contests in the future.
Here are the first few skits for your enjoyment and lulz.
Current participants: melly! Kizaru! Haynes! The_sd16! SuperMicheal! Ketwaroo! Hillja! mab! Cornell! ShinobiKnight! Niobe! Symphony! Artemis!
Contest Deadline: June 1st 2008 (a nice round date) at midnight GMT
Note: since any new submissions will be added to the same file, you'll be better off just viewing the chapter online. It is still available for download. but viewing online means you have a better chance of getting the latest version. I'll be adding a comment each time (when ever that is) there is a new update.
none really. as long as it's funny and original. There are no limits to the number of entries per participant. And remember, you play to win absolutely nothing at all.
Important: Please specify to which name or nickname you want your work to be credited.
Also, before submitting a new entry check through the already uploaded ones to see if it hasn't been done before (avoid making repeats).
Keep sending in 'em new entries. And if possible, really good ones.
Yes, it Christmas in a few days. So I'm not really interested in scanlation right now. As such, I decree that the release of Naruto chapter 383 is postponed to a later date. Don't worry though, it's just a short holiday break. I'll finish it probably before the end of the year. But I can't give a definite date.
Coincidently, This website first came online around christmas last year. So it's a happy birthday to us. (although the NBST itself has been around much longer)
anyway, do christmassy stuff. All of you. Now.
(edit -- It's past christmas now. I gonna try finishing that chapter asap.)
I tweaked around the download page a bit. The old one was kinda annoying, I noticed that yesterday when I downloaded one of my own scans....
Instead of having to click on a download button to start the download, it start automatically after a few seconds. by itself, no intervention needed! Even a nifty count down included!
The only problem is that it's driven by javascript. Now for most people this won't a problem but it might be if you disabled javascript obviously....
Another... consequence of using this new script method is that some browsers seem to think that the download page is trying to spawn a popup when the download starts. Actually its just some server side scripts running to check if you are a "human" downloader and incrementing download counters. I'll spare you the technicalities since I'm not sure why it happens myself.
So basically if you want to download, you have to enable popups. which was pretty much what we've been asking for all along. Our releases are enjoyable, without a doubt. So it's a fair exchange: 1 popup for 1 download.
well actually I'll probably try and fix that other time. And probably un-beta the online viewer in the same pass. But if it can't be fixed, it can't be fixed.
